Arginine vasopressin (AVP), also known as vasopressin, vasopressin, is produced by the supraoptic and paraventricular nuclei of the hypothalamus and stored in the neurohypophysis. In the central nervous system can regulate intracranial pressure and brain tissue metabolism, with antidiuretic, vasoconstrictor, enhance memory, involved in body temperature and immune regulation and other physiological functions.
